Texture and drawing of cracks are interesting & graphic.Good restitution of white, not so easy. And funny the contrast with the orange thing, but what is it ?

@Evelyne Dubos: thank you! i believe it's a small chip of a a pumice-like material (the image when viewed "small" on an average monitor is approximately life-size) that caught my eye because of its color. there's lots of tiny bits of things (including some very determined plant life) out on the lake bed - which is of course most famous for its mysterious 'moving' rocks...

Don't know what it is, but the colors are very dramatic and I love the shadow cast by the little bit of whatever it is. Nice composition.
